Tired & Tender. Life w/Fibromyalgia and A Tender Heart
Tired– Tired as in achy, fibromyalgia overall achy with intense localized pain draining energy, sapping strength and leaving in its wake, a tendency towards despair and isolation.
Tender– Tender as my heart grieves the America we could be rather than the America many have chosen. Tender my heart expanding beyond me, still moving towards Beloved Community.
Tired– Tired as I listen to my husband do the dishes again in the next room. Tired as I decide to only put up a Christmas tree and not all our decorations.
Tender-Tender as the harp I play for 4 patients today in hospice. The soft sounds from the strings ignites a smile on a beautifully wrinkled face.
Tired-Tired as I can’t be in space with lots of conversations happening at once as that transforms quickly into overwhelm.
Tender-Tender as my soft purple, plush jumper. Soft clothes, soft music, feminine fire simmering slowly and sweetly.
Tired and Tender.
Tender and Tired.
Softness. Singing.
Resting. Reading.
Lamenting. Loving.
Cooking. Connecting.
Nourishing. Nurturing.
Rinse and Repeat.
